PRAP CELEBRATES 40th ANNIVERSARY
The Plano-Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic celebrated its 40th anniversary in October recognizing the interfraternity friendship and collaboration for which it was formed. In 1996, the group grew when the Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic disbanded and merged with the Plano Area Alumnae Panhellenic. The group serves Plano, Richardson and communities to the north and east.
After the new organization was created in 2003, to serve Frisco, Allen and other communities north and east of Plano, the group dropped the word “Area” in 2005, and is now recognized as Plano-Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic (PRAP).
The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) honored PRAP with two special awards this summer.
The Certificate of Merit recognizing achievement by PRAP in the areas of panhellenic spirit, undergraduate relations and recruitment information. It also received the Programming Excellence Award recognizing its outstanding activities and events involving their membership, such as special events, sisterhood programming, fundraisers, philanthropy activities and scholarship programming.
Carol Mooney, NPC Alumnae Panhellenic Committee Chair writes, “The history of Plano-Richardson is a rich one, and you can be proud that your group has made so many contributions to your community and NPC. Your members are leaders and contributors to their professions, their communities, their volunteer work and, of course, to your Alumnae Panhellenic.”
The group meets again on October 19, 2015 at 6 p.m. at Kendra Scott@Shops of Legacy for a fundraising shopping spree. Come join us and shop for the holidays. Attendees receive a discount on purchases while enjoying wine, cheese, and cupcakes, plus it helps the PRAP scholarship fund.
