After a tough regular season, Plano West stands at the only representative for the City of Plano in both boys and girls basketball playoffs. Both the Plano and Plano East girls basketball teams were knocked out in the first round of the playoffs while the boys teams finished at the bottom of District 8-5A and failed to earn a playoff berth.

The Plano West boys basketball team will enter the first round of the playoffs on a hot streak after winning their final three games of the regular season. Led by TJ Cline and Holt Harmon, the Wolves will take on the winner of Keller/Justin Northwest at Lewisville High School at 8:00 p.m.

However, it’s the Plano West girls basketball team that has completely stolen the show this year. The team is No. 30 in the nation according to ESPN and thrashed their first round opponent, Saginaw, by a final score of 73-12. The team will face a much tougher task in the second round when they take on Cedar Hill at Flower Mound High School at 7:00 p.m.
