Infinite Bounds Gymnastics in Plano dominated in Ft. Worth at the Metroplex Challenge Gymnastics Meet held February 14– 16. While gymnastics is not a team sport in the Olympic sense, it is common practice to award team trophies following most competitions. Normally the three top scores on each of the four events form the Team Total. It is also common practice for teams of three athletes to compete against teams of more than fifteen or twenty for those three scores. It is a system that supports some, not all. However, the athletes of the Infinite Bounds Level 4 team beat the odds to capture the Team Champion title at the Metroplex Challenge on February 16. Congratulations to Caroline St. John, Mary Hope Krawson, and Breyana Robinson. They posted a higher team total than any other team in the competition, giving them top honors at the Challenge, and placing them higher than teams of up to twenty-one athletes. They also took home top honors by each winning the All-Around title for their competitive Level 4 division. The Infinite Bounds winners didn’t stop there! Awesome job to the Level 6 team they also took home the Team All-Around Award. Delila Bond – Level 2, Anna Lee Phillips – Level 3, Maddie Bird – Level 6, Polly Schwab – Level 6 and Kristen Masucci – Level 7 all walked away as All Around Champions for their competitive division. Way to go Girls!
Infinite Bounds Gymnastics in Plano not only took home several All-Around awards they cleaned up in the individual events with several 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for all competitive divisions Level 2 – Level 10. Additional highlights of the meet come from Megan Fitzgerald – Level 9 earning a bronze medal on vault. Georgiana DePugh – Level 9 earning a bronze medal win on bars, beam, and taking home the gold on floor. Melanie Schattle –Level 9 also earned bronze on beam. Congrats to the Level 9 team! Shayla Scott – Level 10, at Infinite Bounds, earned top honors at the meet with Silver medal wins on Vault, Beam and Floor.
Infinite Bounds Gymnastics in Plano congratulates Chayse Capps, a former gymnast at the gym, who is now a freshman the University of Oklahoma, and competes on their gymnastics team. She earned her team gold on beam with a 9.875 performance! Way to go Chase and way to go Sooners for their awesome win at Metroplex Challenge!
