The Trishas

On Saturday, June 11, Plano's Heritage Farmstead Museum will present its 6th annual "Friends of the Farmstead," a fundraising dinner and concert event featuring food from event sponsor Love & War in Texas, many special guests and a concert by acoustic folk group The Trishas.

"We invite the community to join us for a fun evening featuring dinner and concert on the historic grounds of the Heritage Farmstead Museum," said Heritage Farmstead Museum Executive Director M'Lou Hyttinen.  "All proceeds from this fundraising event support Heritage Farmstead Museum's mission of preserving and celebrating agricultural history and lifestyles in North Texas."

All event tickets include a Texas BBQ dinner and concert admission. The event’s VIP reception will feature music by Zach Coffey, specialty drinks, cocktails and appetizers.  VIP guests will be given the opportunity to visit with musicians and celebrities.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2016 on the historic grounds of the Heritage Farmstead Museum, which is located at 1900 West 15th Street in Plano.  VIP reception begins at 6:00 p.m., general admission opens at 7:00 p.m., and the BBQ dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. and will feature music by Drew Kennedy. The Trishas will take the stage at 8:30 p.m.

“The event will also feature the appearance of live Texas longhorns, rousing games of Chicken Poop Bingo and the chance to win a variety of prices such as the use of a MINI Cooper or a dinner and knife class hosted by CUTCO,” added Hyttinen.

About The Trishas:  When Jamie Wilson, Liz Foster, Kelley Mickwee and Savannah Welch first shared a stage in January 2009, their intention was simply to perform a couple of songs as part of a tribute to Savannah’s father, singer-songwriter Kevin Welch. They had no plans to pursue a joint musical future — they didn’t even have a name, and wound up calling themselves The Trishas on a whim (it popped into their heads because they were covering a Welch-authored Trisha Yearwood hit). The acoustically-focused, folk-influenced group is based in Austin, Texas. They have collaborated with some of the finest tunesmiths in Nashville and Austin — Bruce Robison, Natalie Hemby, John Eddie and Savannah’s dad, along with his firstborn, otherwise known as her brother, Dustin. Jason Eady, Owen Temple and Turnpike Troubadour Evan Felker are among other co-writers. Learn more at: http://www.thetrishas.com/
