The Legacy Willow Bend, Plano’s only life care retirement community, is proud to announce its recent recognition from U.S. News & World Report as “Top Performing” in its Best Nursing Homes category. Only 15 percent of the senior living communities ranked across the country received this special distinction. U.S. News & World Report announced the honors in conjunction with the release of its Nursing Home Finder decision tool, which helps seniors and their families as they seek information about various living options. The Legacy Willow Bend attributes its success to their professional team members’ commitment to excellence and outstanding care.
“It is an honor to receive these accolades for excellence in our Healthcare Center, and I am extremely proud of our team,” said Laura Levy, executive director of The Legacy Willow Bend. “We are dedicated to providing our residents with the highest quality of care in an exceptional environment. Our personalized programs and extensive services continuously meet and exceed our residents’ needs and expectations.”
To qualify for the ranking, a community was required to receive an overall five star ranking from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, or CMS, for August of 2017. The community’s monthly performance was evaluated over a year-long period. A strong emphasis was placed on quality measures for each community and how the community performed as a whole. The Legacy Willow Bend was one of only 59 communities in Texas to receive a Top-Performing rating.
“Our team customizes its approach to each individual resident and adapts as needed to ensure the best possible outcomes,” said Pam Duhon, administrator of health care services at The Legacy Willow Bend. “Health care is ever-changing, and our team constantly ensures we operate within all regulations while providing superior care in a warm environment. We are ecstatic to receive this recognition, and it validates the hard work and effort of our devoted team.”
