2016 SOUTHWEST RV SUPERSHOW RETURNS TO MARKET HALL SEPTEMBER 15-18, 2016

EXPERIENCE MORE THAN 400 RECREATIONAL VEHICLES

Texans love the benefits of RV travel and life as shown in 2015 as Texas led the nation in RV sales representing 7.95% of all RV categories combined.  Coming in second at 4.12% was Florida, according to the 2015 Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) Industry Profile.   In 2015, Texas’ earned $1,755,323,700 in direct economic impact of RV related sales and services alone as determined by John Dunham & Associates for rvsmoveamerica.org.

Following the Baby Boomer generation, the next generation of consumers ages 35-54 has remained the fastest growing segment with the average age of current RV owners at 48 years of age as compared to 60 years of age during the 1990’s.  Generation X and upcoming Millennials seek original products that may be customized to fit their lifestyle, digital control over their vehicle’s amenities and seek brands that demonstrate a social conscience consistent with their own.   Today’s RV travelers are diverse in ethnicity and background however all share an appreciation of adventure, outdoor activities, cultural immersion and desire for a quality connection with family and friends.

Gorving.com is the advocacy group for RV travel and highlights several bloggers dedicated to the diversity of RV life.  From former NFL player Keith Sims raising his family on the go in the off-season, entrepreneurs working remote, families seeking life experience based education, artists documenting the countryside, travel writers providing immersion insight into a destination; the content is broad, deep and inspiring. http://blog.gorving.com/meet-our-bloggers/

No matter the demographic or travel preferences, RV vacations can reduce vacation costs up to 73 percent as found in the RVIA Vacation Cost Comparison.

Current estimates place 1 in 12 vehicle owning households in the U.S. today have a recreational vehicle.  No matter if a household is a current, past or prospective owner; survey responses favor the intent to purchase an RV in the future according to the (RVIA) 2015 Industry Profile.

Returning to Dallas, the SOUTHWEST RV SUPERSHOW September 15-18 at Market Hall attracts over ten thousand shoppers to experience the latest innovation, technology and advancements in RV life and travel.  More than 400 demonstration units are throughout 350,000 square feet of display space.  The popular toy hauler units will be alongside the traditional fifth wheels, travel trailers, tent trailers, motor homes, motor coaches and camper vans.  Each day of the show offers a variety of seminars on RV ownership and vendors with the latest accessories to enhance RV travels.  Professionals are on-site to provide financing and insurance scenarios.  National manufacturers are represented by regional dealer members of the Texas Recreational Vehicle Association who produces the multiday event.

“We have designed the Southwest RV SUPERSHOW to create an easy shopping experience for the consumer to meet our dealer network in a vibrant environment to showcase best in service, selection and the ultimate offerings of RV life.   The Texas Recreational Vehicle Association is dedicated to providing a platform to educate consumers on the rewarding benefits of RV life,” states TRVA Executive Director, Phil Elam.

The 2016 SOUTHWEST RV SUPERSHOW is an excellent opportunity to explore the options for RV travel all under one rooftop with the latest products and industry leaders available to educate and assist consumers.

Innovation by individual Junior Leagues was recognized at the 94th Annual Conference of The Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) through the presentation of Junior League Awards in areas ranging from community impact to fundraising to leadership development this past May. The event brought women together from among 291 Junior Leagues in four countries in Atlanta. The Junior League of Collin County was presented with Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Community Impact Award, which was a big accomplishment for their hard work that has been put into such an amazing program.

“The JLCC is incredibly honored to have been awarded the Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Community Impact Award for our work on JuMP. We started this work over three years ago with the Collin County Juvenile Probation Services with the goal to not only reduce recidivism rates among young adults, but to also provide a positive, goal-focused program for youth that may not have the opportunity to attend such training. JuMP gives us an opportunity to have a real and tangible impact on our community,” states Jennifer Tinsman, JLCC President 2015-2016.

Additional Junior Leagues recognized include for innovative programs:

Junior League of Phoenix

Junior League of Houston

Junior League of Quad Cities

Junior League of London

Junior League of New Orleans

Junior League of DeKalb County

Saturday, April 9th from 12pm - 7pm in downtown Frisco.

Frisco StrEATS is a free, family-friendly event featuring some of DFW’s most popular gourmet food trucks, quality live music and a large number of vendor booths. The spring event has drawn larger and larger crowds throughout the years, as area families and food truck groupies have gathered to enjoy great food, trendy melodies and a beer garden offering beer and wine for purchase. This year, the Merchants Association will host at least 23 food trucks, 30% more than last year, 20-30 local vendors and six bands, along with a new arts area featuring local artists and their creative work.

“The Frisco StrEATS event has become a premier spring attraction in downtown Frisco,” said Chris Johnson, president of the Frisco Downtown Merchants Association. “Last year’s festival drew more than 12,000 people to downtown Frisco, and with the additional trucks and attractions, we are expecting and even larger crowd this year.” The music line-up will again be anchored by the popular DFW dance and wedding band Moving Colors, with other sets throughout the day by Patrick Casey, Matthew Schaffer, Rich Ellis, Iron Horse Express and Philipaloosa. “We are so grateful to our sponsors this year,” added Johnson. “The support we have received allows us to continue to grow the event by offering additional programming, attractions, food trucks, an expanded children’s area and great music. It’s truly a spring celebration of historic downtown, and I know every who attends is going to have a great time.”

The title sponsor, the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center, is joined in support of Frisco StrEATS by Watermere at Frisco, Legacy Plumbing, Classique Jewelers, Renew Family Dentistry, Fence Makeovers, Mosquito Joe and Patti Ann’s Flowers. Free pedicab transportation will be available from Frisco city hall garage to and from the event venue.
