Wipe Out Kids Cancer hosted an Appreciation Party at the home of Anne and Bill Seanor to celebrate the Host Committee, sponsors, and donors helping make the organizations 45th Anniversary Gala possible. Guests enjoyed an elegant evening of food and beverages while gathering in support of WOKCs mission to bring comfort, hope, and significant funding for research to children with cancer and their families.

During the evening, Cindy Brinker Simmons, founder of Wipe Out Kids Cancer/Gala Co-Chair, and Gala Co-Chair Karee Sampson shared remarks about the impact of the organizations work over the past 45 years and the importance of the upcoming gala on Saturday, April 25, at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas. They thanked supporters for helping advance WOKCs mission from providing Buddy Bags and the Warrior Family Program to funding innovative pediatric cancer research.

DALLAS PULSE CLINCH PLAYOFF BERTH IN THEIR INAUGURAL SEASON

The Dallas PULSE are headed to the postseason in their inaugural season after Dallas (17-6) swept the Omaha Supernovas (11-13) in straight sets on Sunday afternoon, 25-21, 25-21, 25-22. The win marked the PULSEs seventh sweep of the season and added to the momentum of a team that continues to show why it has become one of Major League Volleyballs most dangerous contenders.

I dont think we couldve asked for a better start to the season in our first year as a franchise, said Shannon Winzer, Head Coach for Dallas PULSE. When we first came together as a team, we said the beauty of this year is we have no past, only beginnings, so lets make our mark on the league. And were doing just that. But our job is far from done, so for now we want to celebrate having clinched a spot in finals but stay in the trenches working to get better.

During the Omaha match, Dallas PULSE showed the balance that has made this team so difficult to defend. The PULSE was powered by another standout performance from outside hitters Mimi Colyer and Sofia Maldonado Diaz, who delivered the kind of one-two punch that has become a defining strength for the PULSE all season. Veteran setter Natalia Valentin-Andersons leadership and steady presence helped the PULSE hit .320 for the match, the ninth time this season the team has eclipsed a .300 hitting percentage. Kylie Murr continues to anchor the defense and is one of the leading passers in the MLV.

The 2026 Major League Volleyball Championship will be held on the PULSE home court at Comerica Center in Frisco, on Thursday, May 7 with the title match on Saturday, May 9. The winning team earns a one million dollar bonus to be distributed among its roster. Fans can purchase tickets via the TicketMaster website.

Dallas PULSE returns to Comerica Center on Friday, April 17, to face the Columbus Fury at 7 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match live on Victory+. This home match will serve as a special Hearts and Heroes appreciation night, recognizing military members and healthcare workers in the North Texas community on the court before the first set.

Local nonprofit Black Heart Association (BHA) will be onsite at Comerica Center from 3 pm to 6:45 p.m., performing free heart screenings inside their Cardiovascular and Resource Delivery Vehicle (CARDI V). Trained staff and medical providers will conduct these screenings with a simple finger prick, delivering instant results and offering insight.

Park Place Lexus Plano recognized Frisco Independent School District Teachers of the Year, Cassidy Dorain and Katie Ryan. Dorain, an elementary teacher at Scott Elementary School, was named Elementary Teacher of the Year, while Ryan, a teacher at Heritage High School, was honored as Secondary Teacher of the Year.

Four Dallas PULSE Players Win Fan Vote To Earn Spot's In MLV's All-Star Match In Orlando

Dallas PULSE players Mimi Colyer, Natalia Valentin-Anderson, Sofia Maldonado Diaz, Layne Van Buskirk, and Kaitlyn Hord (alternate) have been selected to compete in the Major League Volleyballs 2026 AdventHealth MLV All-Star Match. The selections were chosen by combination of fan voting and league selection.

These Dallas PULSE favorites have the opportunity to compete on a national stage, highlighting the rise of professional volleyball in the North Texas sports landscape. The All-Star Match will take place Saturday, March 28 at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida and will be broadcast on CBS Network Television and Paramount+ at Noon ET.

In our first year in the MLV, its an honor to have four athletes named to the All-Star teams, along with one alternate, Kaitlyn Hord. Each of these athletes is incredibly deserving, having performed at the top of their positions throughout the season so far, said Dallas PULSE Head Coach Shannon Winzer. This level of recognition in our first season also reflects the depth of talent we have in Dallas, supported by teammates who push and challenge each other every day.

Keynote speaker Conni Reed, founder, CEO & chief creative officer of Consuela, shared the creative journey behind her values-driven company. Fans are invited to join the Arrow McLaren IndyCar Team for a race-week kickoff party inside the racetrack before the NTT INDYCAR SERIES takes to the streets of Arlington for the first time at the Java House Grand Prix of Arlington. Arrow McLaren drivers Pato O Ward, Nolan Siegel and Christian Lundgaard will make appearances and sign autographs at select times throughout the evening on Wednesday, March 11.

There will be a live livery unveiling of the No. 6 SmartStop Arrow McLaren Chevrolet, giving fans in attendance the first look at the car before it races the streets of Arlington race weekend.

Additional on-stage programming will include a Q&A between Dallas-based comedian Ralph Barbosa and O Ward, plus a Women in Sports panel presented by team partner NTT DATA featuring sports executives and race organizers. Fans also will have access to Mission Foods and VELO product stands, SmartStop racing simulators, kid zone, merchandise offerings, a Get Ready Zone where attendees can glam up before race weekend.

The Arlington Backyard event is located at Texas LIVE! next to Globe Life Field, home of the Texas Rangers, just east of AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Park Place Dealerships broke ground today on a new multi-million dollar Porsche dealership and an expanded Volvo facility on Lemmon Avenue in Dallas. The project represents a significant investment in the client experience and the future of luxury automotive retail in North Texas.

Park Place Dealerships purchased 15 acres in December 2024 and plans to build a state-of-the-art Porsche dealership to be completed in 2027 as well as construct a Volvo service center adjacent to the existing Volvo dealership.

We believe that these projects allow us to elevate the experience for both Porsche and Volvo clients in a meaningful way, shared David Hult, President and Chief Executive Officer of Asbury. The new Porsche dealership is expected to be one of the premier Porsche dealerships in the country, with the ability to serve clients at the highest level. At the same time, bringing the Volvo service center onto the property adds a level of convenience our clients truly value, creating a more seamless, efficient experience from the moment a client arrives onsite.

The Volvo dealership has been under renovation for the past eight months and is expected to be completed in early 2027. The expanded sales facility will feature a new exterior and interior with a sleek new showroom and a client lounge that will be the living room of the dealership that offers a relaxing, modern space with comfortable seating, a self-serve coffee bar, and room for conversations with Park Place sales and service advisors.

Dallas PULSE Upset Orlando Valkyries To Improve To 3-1

The Dallas PULSE, extended their winning streak (3-1) in a road victory against the Orlando Valkyries (3-2) during a five-set thriller, 3-2 (24-26, 22-25, 25-16, 25-23, 15-9), at Addition Financial Arena in Orlando on Sunday.

Dallas Pulse outside hitter Mimi Colyer led all scorers with 22 points, tallying 21 kills on 45 swings. Opposite hitter Kelsie Payne added 15 kills on 32 attempts and four blocks. Player of the Game went to Kaylee Cox, who provided a spark off the bench with 13 kills on 30 swings. Dallas finished with a season-high 73 kills and 13 blocks.

The best part about todays game was the full team effort, said Dallas PULSE Head Coach Shannon Winzer. Our serving subs, Geli Cyr and Isabel Martin, hit key serves in crucial moments, and we continue to show the depth of talent in this team with Malaya Jones getting two key points late in the fourth set and Kaylee Cox coming in the third to make an immediate impact offensively. Every game, we want to improve on the last, and so far, we are doing just that. We are also showing the character of this team and what we are building in Dallas. Never count us out.

For Orlando, opposite hitter Brittany Abercrombie recorded a double-double with 17 kills on 40 swings and 11 digs. Outside hitter Charitie Luper chipped in nine kills on 26 attempts.

Orlando struck first in the opening set and maintained the edge. Dallas clawed back to even the score at 24-24 behind six kills from Payne and five from Colyer. A successful block-touch challenge swung momentum back to the Valkyries, and late breakdowns in serve-receive allowed a kill from Abercrombie and an ace from Maddux to seal the 26-24 set. While Payne and Colyer powered the Pulse offense, Orlando spread production across six players with at least one kill.

The second set followed a similar script, with the teams deadlocked at 21-21 before Orlando closed on a 4-1 run to take a 2-0 lead.

Dallas flipped the match in set three. Cox came off the bench for the Pulse and immediately made an impact, posting five kills on nine swings without an error. An error by Orlando gave Dallas a 20-14 cushion, capped by a 3-0 solo run from Payne to make it 23-14. Another error returned the ball to Orlando, but a kill from middle blocker Tristin Savage gave the ball back to Dallas. Luper added one final kill for the Valkyries before Payne closed the frame with a kill, 25-16.

With Colyer serving in the fourth set, Dallas surged early behind a 4-0 run fueled by Cox, who finished the set with six kills. Pulse middle blocker Layne Van Buskirk hit .600 in the frame, and improved defensive play helped Dallas edge Orlando, 25-23, forcing a decisive fifth set.

Orlando grabbed an early lead in the final frame before Dallas evened the score at 6-6. The Pulse then erupted on a 9-3 run to secure the five-set upset over the reigning Major League Volleyball champions, 15-9.

Dallas PULSE will remain on the road for a matchup against the Columbus Fury on Thursday, January 29, with a 6:00 p.m. CT start at Nationwide Arena. Fans can watch live on YouTube.
