The First Place winner of the 2018 Art Competition is Amanda He from Plano West Senior High School for her artwork, “City of Bikes.”
Plano, TX – U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson (TX-03) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2018 Congressional Art Competition, “An Artistic Discovery.” Winners were announced at the Congressman’s free annual art exhibit and awards ceremony held at the McKinney Performing Arts Center on May 14th.
“This year’s Congressional Art Competition was outstanding, and I thank all our student artists who shared their original artwork with the community,” said Johnson. “I also want to thank all the folks who attended the art exhibit and awards ceremony in support of the students. And finally, I want to thank the parents and teachers of our students for providing them an environment to think creatively and further develop their artistic skills. I’m inspired not only by the artwork displayed, but by the support this community provides. It’s what makes Collin County such a great place to live. Again, I thank all our students for their hard work, and it is my pleasure to congratulate this year’s winners on their accomplishments!”
