The Legacy Willow Bend, Plano’s first and only life care retirement community, recently celebrated a decade of serving seniors and their families. Over the course of the past 10 years, the not-for-profit retirement community has touched the lives of hundreds of families, creating a sense of pride for those who live and work at the community. The Jewish-sponsored boutique senior living community attributes its success to its high standard of customer service, the creation of a vibrant lifestyle, a tight-knit environment where friends support one another, as well as an experienced team of dedicated employees. This commitment to service has long been held by The Legacy Senior Communities, the parent company of The Legacy Willow Bend, which after 65 years of business remains dedicated to quality care and a sense of history. The Legacy Willow Bend promotes a lifestyle of discovery and enjoyment while providing the finest care and conveniences across the continuum of care. Offering independent living, assisted living, memory care, long-term skilled nursing and short-term rehab, the community enjoys stable occupancy with a waiting list for future residents.
“As we reflect on this milestone, it’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since the community opened its doors. The community is just as beautiful and vibrant as the day we opened, and I am proud of the lifestyle we created for residents to build relationships and experience new things,” said Paul Michaels, chair of the board for The Legacy Willow Bend. “The community continues to amaze me from the physical timelessness of the campus to the team members and residents who make The Legacy Willow Bend a home. If the success achieved in the past decade is an indication of the future, it’s safe to say we have a bright future ahead.”
“This is a special time for all of us to look back and see how we have grown, with hope for the future ahead,” said Laura Levy, executive director of The Legacy Willow Bend. “The anniversary celebration was an excellent way for us to thank our team members and residents for their support and all they do to make this community more than just a place to live. It’s an honor to be a part of a community that feels like home and a team that treats one another with compassion and respect.”
During the anniversary festivities, residents and team members enjoyed hors d’oeuvres and entertainment while mingling and reflecting on the memories made together. For the residents of The Legacy Willow Bend, 24 of whom have been at the community since the doors opened, the anniversary was a unique opportunity to reflect on fond memories.
“We have a deep commitment to our residents and their families and a devoted team focused on high standards of excellence. It brings us satisfaction to see our residents engaged and socializing in our community,” said Melissa Orth, president and CEO of The Legacy Senior Communities. “We have established a diverse community where Jewish seniors and residents from other backgrounds come together, learn from one another and make a difference in our community. It’s an exciting time for us, and we look forward to building upon the foundation of excellence long established by our organization.”
The Legacy Senior Communities will apply its long-standing reputation for excellence as the foundation for their newest community, The Legacy Midtown Park, now under construction in Dallas. The Legacy Midtown Park will be a state-of-the-art, Jewish-sponsored, not-for-profit rental community that will provide independent living apartment homes and all levels of care on one campus – including assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehab. Expected to complete construction in 2020, the 10 acre campus is located on Manderville Lane between Meadow Road and Royal Lane.
