The Legacy Senior Communities Announces a Significant Milestone at The Legacy Willow Bend

The Legacy Willow Bend, Plano’s only life care retirement community, has established a reputation for providing an active and innovative environment where seniors can access high-quality care – if they need it – all on one campus. As a result, The Legacy Senior Communities, the not-for-profit parent company of The Legacy Willow Bend, is pleased to announce a significant milestone: The Legacy Willow Bend is 100 percent occupied, with a waiting list for new residents. The Jewish-sponsored boutique senior living community attributes its success to its high standard of customer service, the creation of a vibrant lifestyle, a tight-knit environment where friends support one another, as well as an experienced team of dedicated employees.

“I am delighted to see that our residents from near and far are thriving in their new lives at The Legacy Willow Bend,” said Marilyn Israel, executive director of The Legacy Willow Bend. “People often say that we are the best kept secret, and it seems we are not a secret anymore. Over time, more families have come to know us and rely on us. I find it gratifying to lead our community, and I am thankful for each team member who embodies our culture and focus on hospitality and customer service.”

The Legacy Willow Bend has also noticed an increase in inquiries from seniors who live out of town, out of state and even nearby, especially due to the booming housing market. The cities of Plano and nearby Frisco are both growing, and many executives are relocating for employment, which has influenced grandparents to move closer to their families. In addition, a strong housing market has led to more seniors considering a move into a retirement community.

“We have achieved what we set out to accomplish when we opened our doors eight years ago,” said Michael Ellentuck, president and CEO of The Legacy Senior Communities. “As the only life care community in Plano, we are unique, and we have a set of standards that we uphold each and every day. We have created a community where Jewish seniors and residents from other diverse backgrounds come together to experience life, learn from one another and make a difference in the world around them. Our not-for-profit mission allows us to truly focus on excellence and quality, from independent living to assisted living, memory care, rehabilitation or skilled nursing, all on one campus. We will continue to positively impact the lives of seniors and their families today and for many years to come.”

“I am thrilled about our success as a Life Care community, and it brings me tremendous satisfaction knowing that we have reached this milestone,” said Linda Garner, chair of the Board of Directors of The Legacy Willow Bend. “Being a part of The Legacy Willow Bend from the conceptual stage, I had hoped that we would create an environment in which older adults would have their individual needs met while forming new friendships, enjoying exciting new activities and at the same time thriving spiritually, physically and emotionally. We have now accomplished that, and when I visit with residents and their families, I see how fulfilled and happy they are, which in turn, brings me immense joy.”

Using its reputation for excellence in lifestyle and care at The Legacy Willow Bend as its foundation, The Legacy Senior Communities plans to apply the same philosophy to its new community, currently under development in Dallas. The Legacy Midtown Park will be a state-of-the-art Jewish-sponsored not-for-profit rental retirement community that will provide independent living and all levels of care on one campus – including memory care, assisted living, rehabilitation and skilled nursing. Expected to open in 2019, the urban, contemporary community will be located on 10 acres on Manderville Lane, between Meadow Road and Royal Lane.

“The Legacy Willow Bend is a model for our entire country, and we should all be extremely proud of what we have accomplished,” said Carol Aaron, chair of the Board of Directors of The Legacy Midtown Park and immediate past chair of the Board of Trustees of The Legacy Senior Communities. “With The Legacy Midtown Park, we will bring our thriving, Jewish environment to even more seniors. This is an exciting time for our organization as we continue to fulfill the mission we set forth at The Legacy Willow Bend to always provide an excellent lifestyle with loving care and concern.”

“When you offer an amazing product, the community responds, and we are seeing that at The Legacy Willow Bend,” said Marc R. Stanley, chair of the Board of Trustees of The Legacy Senior Communities. “I want to congratulate The Legacy Willow Bend, and I am personally proud of the fine community, exemplary staff and inspirational residents. We enjoy an excellent reputation which will help us as we turn our incredible vision for The Legacy Midtown Park into a reality. Our experience and character will set us up for continued success.”
