Windsong Ranch recently hosted the Second Annual Wings Over Windsong, one of the largest radio controlled aircraft events ever seen in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.  More than 1,000 spectators turned out to see 50 model aviation planes take flight.  The planes ranged from WWII, WWI, sport, 3D, pattern, electric aircraft as well as helicopters.

The signature community event had something the whole family could enjoy including food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, balloon artist and a full scale helicopter landing.

With proceeds going to MD Anderson Cancer Research, the AMA Sanctioned event was a joint effort by the Richardson, North Dallas and Rowlett Radio Control Clubs.  The three clubs have memberships totaling over 500 members. Industry experts predict this event could eventually challenge Joe Nall, an air show in South Carolina which is currently the largest gathering of RC pilots at one event any where in the world.
