Frisco Market Center, a 100-acre mixed-use development located in the heart of Frisco at the northwest corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Main Street, announced today the opening of a new 38,000 square foot LA Fitness.

“This is a great location on the going-home corner of the Dallas North Tollway and Main at the epi-center of Frisco, Texas,” said Kirk Hermansen, partner at Hermansen Development, the developer for Frisco Market Center.  “Health clubs and grocery stores are great traffic generating anchor tenants for shopping centers.  The LA Fitness is a fantastic facility with all of the bells and whistles including a Kids Klub, group fitness classes, basketball court, swimming pool and indoor cycling.  The addition of LA Fitness along with the exciting additional planned development should only add to the success of our tenants.”

Earlier this year, a major grocery store purchased approximately 19 acres of land along the eastern portion of Frisco Market Center for a future 100,000  + square foot grocery operation.

The LA Fitness building, located at 5080 Main Street, is situated on 5.14 acres of land within Frisco Market Center. Ridgemont was the general contractor for the project and Legacy Texas was the lender.  Frisco Market Center’s capital partner is Chief Partners LP, a real estate investment firm based in Dallas, Texas.

Upon completion, Frisco Market Center will include nearly 500,000 square feet of entertainment, restaurants and retail, approximately 250 hotel rooms and over 1,500 residents on site.  Currently anchored by Main Event and LA Fitness, this urban living project also includes The Emerson, a 410-unit luxury apartment community and a host of other successful restaurants.

The existing roster of tenants already in place includes Pei Wei Asian Diner; Panera Bread; Rockfish Seafood Kitchen; Pie Five Pizza Co.; Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes; FedEx Office; Floyd’s Barbershop; Ideal Dental; Simply Fit Foods; Freebirds World Burrito; Cowboy Chicken; Smoothie King; IHop; and 54th Street Grill.

Other notable developments located at the intersection include Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center, a 145-acre multipurpose sports and entertainment facility consisting of the soon to open National Soccer Hall of Fame plus a state-of-the-art pro soccer stadium with a capacity of 20,500 and 17 tournament-sized fields that currently draw over one million visitors per year.  Additional popular attractions at the intersection include The Sci -Tech Discovery Center, Frisco Library, Frisco Center and Black Box Theater, Museum of American Railroad, Frisco Heritage Village and Museum, National Videogame Museum and Frisco Square with over 1.5 million square feet of planned office space.
