Dr. Jon Lineberger to Assume New Role in the School’s Office of Development

August 25, 2014 -- PLANO, TX — Today Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) announced that after an extensive search, Dr. Jon Lineberger will join its staff on Sept. 11, 2014, as the school’s new Director of Major Gifts. In this role, Dr. Lineberger will be responsible for establishing and cultivating key relationships within the community that enable Prestonwood Christian Academy to provide educational opportunities and transform lives for Christ.  Dr. Lineberger has served as a member of the PCA Board of Trustees since 2013, but will relinquish that role prior to assuming the new position.


“Prestonwood Christian Academy is thrilled to welcome Jon Lineberger to our leadership team,” said Dr. Larry Taylor, PCA’s Head of School.  “Having served alongside Jon on our Board of Trustees, I have experienced his character and passion for Christian education, and I know he will excel in this role in our Office of Development."


Dr. Lineberger has been on staff at Dallas Baptist University (DBU) since 2001, serving as Assistant Vice President and directing DBU North for the majority of that time. In addition, Dr. Lineberger taught in both the College of Professional Studies and Gary Cook Graduate School of Leadership at DBU. He earned his EdD, Higher Education Administration, at The University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa, MA, Counseling from Dallas Baptist University and BA, Psychology and Sociology from Houston Baptist University. He is the author of two books: What God Did With A Mess Like Me: 17 Truths To A Changed Life and Tips For Academic Success In College: Habits That Will Make You A Better Student.


Dr. Lineberger is active in the community having served as Frisco Chamber of Commerce Chairman and Frisco Rotary Club President. In 2009, he was named Frisco’s Citizen of the Year, and he currently serves on the Plano Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.


Dr. Lineberger and his wife, Gina, have three children attending PCA.  The family has been members of Prestonwood Baptist Church since 2005.
