Prestonwood Christian Academy’s Competitive Cheerleading team concluded an undefeated competition season at the Dallas Convention Center on January 25, 2015, as they won their seventh National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) National Title in various divisions, including the Large Varsity Advanced division in which they competed this year. PCA accumulated the third highest score overall (96.53) out of approximately 300 schools competing across all divisions.  Click here to see PCA’s winning routine!

In addition to the NCA National Championship title, the team also won Best Showmanship.  They competed against large public schools from around the region such as Southlake Carroll and Tulsa Union, as well as national schools such as Ames High School in Iowa.

Prior to Nationals, the team traveled to Orlando and won the Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders (FCC) National Championship title, as well as hardware for best jumps, best tumbling and best showmanship.

PCA’s Competitive Cheerleading team is comprised of 40 girls in grades seven through 12. Led by Coach Krista Godbee, PCA’s Competitive Cheerleading team is about more than just  trophies. They strive to perform "state of the art" cheerleading techniques, while maintaining Christian standards; being "contemporary without compromise.” The team requires academic excellence while promoting creativity and enthusiasm with a "be the best that you can be" attitude. Most importantly, the team gives Jesus Christ pre-eminence in all that they do. Coach Godbee is the most winning and longest tenured coach at PCA having served 14 years at the school.

Prestonwood Christian Academy has more than 1,600 students enrolled at three campuses: Plano (Pre-Kindergarten 3-12th grade), PCA North in Prosper (Pre-Kindergarten 3-5th grade) and PCAplus Virtual Academy.  The school has been recognized as having one of the strongest Christian education programs in the country providing intentional biblical worldview training and integration. PCA places great value on the growth of students’ spiritual health in addition to their scholastic endeavors and co-curricular activities. In addition to PCA’s spiritual development plan, the school promotes a rigorous Liberal Arts academic program. PCA is currently accepting applications for the 2015-16 school year. Interested families are invited to take a Thursday tour. Please visit www.prestonwoodchristian.org for more information!
