Girl Scout Tree Dedication Girl Scout Troop 2597 donated a tree to PCA.

Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) celebrated the planting of more than 40 oak trees on the Plano campus Saturday in effort to beautify the campus and give back to the Plano community.  The oak trees were planted along E. Hebron Parkway east of Marsh Lane and along International Parkway.

“I liken these beautiful oaks to our children,” said PCA Head of School, Dr. Larry Taylor. “The trees are small today, but as they are rooted in the fertile soil which will sustain them through life’s storms, so our students’ minds and hearts are rooted in biblical truth of God’s word.”

PCA families gathered Saturday morning to celebrate the planting of the trees, which were donated in honor of graduates, current students, PCA Grandparents and in memory of loved ones.  The trees biblical symbolism was not lost on those in attendance.  PCA’s school song is based on Jeremiah 17:8 which says, “He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

Prestonwood Christian Academy began a Tree Fund as part of its PCA Initiatives campaign to enhance the campus through landscaping, plazas, outdoor education areas and historical markers. PCA pledged to elevate the importance of creating aesthetically pleasing spaces, knowing that this type of beauty is another expression of God’s creation and His excellence.

Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) has more than 1,600 students enrolled at three campuses: Plano (Pre-Kindergarten 3-12th grade), PCA North in Prosper (Pre-Kindergarten 3-5th grade) and PCAplus Virtual Academy.  The school has been recognized as having one of the strongest Christian education programs in the country providing intentional biblical worldview training and integration. PCA places great value on the growth of students’ spiritual health in addition to their scholastic endeavors and co-curricular activities. In addition to PCA’s spiritual development plan, the school promotes a rigorous Liberal Arts academic program. PCA is currently accepting applications for the 2015-16 school year. Interested families are invited to take a Thursday tour. Please visit www.prestonwoodchristian.org/admissions for more information!
