PRESTONWOOD CHRISTIAN ACADEMY HONORS QUARTERBACK RYAN CASH

Athlete Named Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Private School Player of the Year

Last night, Prestonwood Christian Academy celebrated Junior Quarterback Ryan Cash who was recently named Dave Campbell’s Texas Football (DCTF) Private School Player of the Year.

The 2015 Winter Edition of Dave Campbell's Texas Football hit shelves on January 28, 2015. According to their website, "Each year in its annual Winter Edition, the staff at Dave Campbell’s Texas Football selects an MVP from every district, from 6A down to six-man. For truly the best of the best, DCTF honors the best high school player in each classification with the Player of the Year award."

In naming Ryan Cash the Private School Player of the Year, the magazine states, "One of the state’s most prolific passers, the Lions’ signal-caller aired it out again and again and again to the tune of 4,845 yards and 48 touchdowns. His accuracy was also impressive, completing passes at a 65.5% clip. It’s no wonder that Prestonwood averaged more than 41 points per game with Cash at the helm.”

PCA’s Athletic Director and Head Football Coach, Chris Cunningham, shared with the crowd the recognition that Cash received from the magazine. “While I am extremely proud of Ryan for his work on the field; his dedication, focus and leadership, I am even more proud of the person he is off of the field. Ryan is a Christ-follower and sets an example in the way he treats his teammates, teachers, coaches, family and friends."

The school honored Cash during its Winter Sports Senior Night in the Field House during halftime of the PCA Men’s Varsity Basketball Game.  In addition to his coaches and teammates, Cash’s family was also on hand for the celebration.

Prestonwood Christian Academy has more than 1,600 students enrolled at three campuses: Plano (Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 12th grade), PCA North in Prosper (Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 5th grade) and PCAplus Virtual Academy.  The school has been recognized as having one of the strongest Christian education programs in the country providing intentional biblical worldview training and integration. PCA places great value on the growth of students’ spiritual health in addition to their scholastic endeavors and co-curricular activities. In addition to PCA’s spiritual development plan, the school promotes a rigorous Liberal Arts academic program. PCA is currently accepting applications for the 2015-16 school year. Interested families are invited to take a Thursday tour of either campus. Please visit www.prestonwoodchristian.org for more information!
