On Friday, July 17, 2020, Prestonwood Christian Academy unveiled its Back-to-School plan for the 2020-21 school year. PCA Plano and PCA North in Prosper look forward to resuming daily on-campus instruction for all students this fall. As preparations are made for a safe return to school with limited disruptions and enhanced health protocols, PCA has created a dedicated COVID-19 Team, with four specific Task Forces. The COVID-19 team has gathered research, made recommendations, and feels confident PCA is able to return to campus with the robust student life offerings for which Prestonwood Christian Academy is known.
As a private school, PCA is not mandated to follow the decisions of neighboring school districts. Unless a government agency requires closing of the school, PCA plans to conduct classes here on our campus. However, because there is still so much uncertainty about best practices during this pandemic, the campuses are proceeding thoughtfully and carefully. School officials have developed a re-opening plan with a remote learning option that allows for flexibility and transparency while prioritizing the health and safety of the school community.
The PCA Back-to-School Plan is summarized in the Returning to a Connected Community document which can be viewed on the PCA website. More information and Frequently Asked Questions can be found at prestonwoodchristian.org/reopening.
While PCA will proceed with school on-campus as planned, it may look different during adaptation to new protocols to provide safety for students and extended PCA family. PCA's promise to provide a high-quality educational experience, a nurturing environment, and a biblically based discipleship plan, both inside and outside of the classroom, remains unchanged.
