Mr. Greg Wright Prestonwood Christian Academy Announces Mr. Greg Wright as Inaugural Middle/Upper School Principal at PCA North in Prosper.

Prestonwood Christian Academy Head of School, Dr. Larry Taylor, announced the appointment of Mr. Greg Wright as Middle/Upper School Principal at PCA’s North Campus in Prosper, TX. This appointment is critical to PCA’s expansion at the North Campus which is adding a grade every year through the first graduating class of 2023. PCA North is part of PCA’s School System which consists of two elementary schools (Plano and Prosper), two middle schools (Plano and Prosper), a high school (Plano, and soon to be Prosper), a virtual academy, and St. Timothy Christian Academy, a school for unique learning needs. PCA’s School System is fully accredited through AdvancEd and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). PCA is one of only eleven Christian schools in the nation earning Exemplary Level Accreditation.

“Although the scholastic and co-curricular programs are strong, at the very core of our mission is to produce followers of Jesus Christ. We are training students who can enter the university, and then the world, fully confident in their belief system, but also competent in the areas of business, law, medicine, ministry, education and beyond. Finding the right leader and educator who catches the vision and has the proven ability to implement the strategic plans for future growth of PCA North with integrity, passion, love for students and a heart for Christ was critical to PCA North’s success. Greg Wright is such a leader and I could not be more pleased to have someone of his character joining the team,” said Dr. Taylor.

“I am very excited to join the Prestonwood Christian Academy team that brings excellence in everything it does for the Glory of God. After retiring as the High School Principal at Prosper last June, I soon realized that I missed the daily relationships with students, staff, parents and community. God placed me on this earth to be a Principal and I have no doubt after being away for just a short time that being a Principal is my Purpose Driven Life.  And, I am thrilled to be coming back to the wonderful community of Prosper which I love so much,” Mr. Wright commented.

Mr. Wright brings a wealth of experience having served in Texas schools for 32 years, 22 of those in school administration, including five years (2012 – 2017) as Principal of Prosper High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science Education at Texas A&I University, Kingsville, TX and his Master of Education Administration and Mid-Management Certification at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX.

Having retired from the Texas Public School System in 2017, Mr. Wright garnered several prestigious honors and awards including Region 7 Superintendent of the Year, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award, 2014 Prosper Person of the Year, 2017 TAJE Texas High School Administrator of the Year and 2017 Relay for Life Administrator of the Year. He has a proven record of pursuing and achieving excellence. Under his leadership, Hallsville ISD was one of only four 5-A and 6-A school districts in the State of Texas that achieved Exemplary Ratings for the district and all campuses. Hallsville ISD received 15 Exemplary and 15 Recognized Ratings from the Texas Education Agency. And, Prosper High School was recognized as one of the Top High Schools in the nation by US News & World Report.

Mr. Wright has been married to Lesli Wright for 31 years, and the couple has twin daughters, Brooke and Brittany (22). Both will graduate from college this spring and continue with graduate school.

Prestonwood Christian Academy serves more than 1,600 students enrolled at three campuses: Plano (Pre-K3 through 12th grade), PCA North in Prosper (Pre-K3 through 7th grade) and PCAplus Virtual Academy. PCA North is now enrolling through 8th grade. PCA has been recognized as having one of the strongest Christian education programs in the country providing intentional biblical worldview training and integration. PCA places great value on the growth of students’ spiritual health in addition to their scholastic endeavors and co-curricular activities. Tantamount to its Spiritual Development plan is PCA’s rigorous Liberal Arts academic program. Since it first graduating class in 2002 through the class of 2017, graduates were offered nearly $100 million in scholarship for academics, arts and athletics from universities and other institutions of higher learning. Both Prestonwood campuses are currently accepting applications for the 2018-19 school year. PCA North is hosting a Meet and Greet on April 19, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. when families will have the opportunity to visit with PCA’s Head of School and PCA North Principals, ask questions and take a tour. Details and registration are available at prestonwoodchristian.org/preview.
