John Paul II High School will have the chance to defend its Academic Decathlon State Title in February in San Antonio after qualifying last weekend in the regional tournament. The team, coached by Keith Gannett, Melissa Downs and Lauren Hawley, won the Super Quiz portion of the event and finished in second place (Small School Division) to advance.
The team won 41 medals overall, including Gold and Silver All-Around.
