The weather may be freezing one day and unseasonably warm the next, but it’s soccer season at Murphy Middle School in Plano ISD.

The Murphy Middle School soccer season kicked off Friday, January 31, with a defensive battle between the “Question Marks” and “FC United.” The two teams battled to a 0-0 tie as goalies Nicole Anderson for the Question Marks and Roshan Damodaran for FC United held their opponents scoreless.

There are 10 teams in two 5-team divisions. One division plays each Wednesday after school, and the other plays every Friday after school. The final season game will be played April 2. The best teams will face off in the MMS Championship game Friday, April 4 immediately after school. The 3rd annual Plano ISD Soccer Festival will be held in early May at Clark Field. An all-star team of four boys and four girls will be selected to represent Murphy MS in an 8v8 Middle School Tournament in May.

Murphy Middle School is inclusive of all who wish to play soccer in grades sixth through eighth. Murphy Middle School is in the Plano Independent School District.
