Applications are currently being accepted for the 2014 Plano Fire-Rescue’s Citizens Fire Academy.

The Citizens Fire Academy (CFA) is a ten-week course offered to adults who either live or work in the city of Plano. The 2014 course will meet on Thursday nights from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. beginning January 30 at Plano’s Fire Administration Building, located at 1901 K Avenue. The course is offered free.

Participants in the CFA will learn how Plano Fire-Rescue is organized, how it operates, and how it serves the citizens of Plano. Each night of class includes a different lecture topic as well as hands-on activities or demonstrations. During the ten weeks of the course, participants are also given the opportunity to spend time at Plano fire stations and ride out with firefighters on emergency calls.

Applications can be found here. For more information, contact Captain Peggy Harrell at 972-941-7421 or peggyha@plano.gov.
