The McKinney Community Concerts Association launches its 41st Season with a tribute to Lynette Weiss, Founder and Association Past President, and a focus on Fine Arts Education in McKinney I.S.D. October 11, 2014 at 6:30pm.  The Education Connection was the heart of Mrs. Weiss, and as one of the four established Association goals, is being announced as their focus this year by event coordinator, technical director, and MISD fine arts educator Cindi Garrett, of McKinney Boyd High School Fine Arts department.

This is a very exciting season as MCCA opens with a GALA Celebration of the Arts featuring the Pre-show and Intermission performances of McKinney North Orchestra string program under the expert direction of Margaret Brown, and reception with distinguished school board, city, county and state officials.  Ms. Brown joined the McKinney ISD ten years ago as a founder of the String Program for the MISD district!  A long time educator of the Fine Arts, Ms. Brown "loves the encouragement of musical performance and enjoyment in every student's life" especially those in her Orchestra classes.  The Goal Rush event Saturday evening, beginning at 6:30pm, will be the first of many performances by all McKinney Fine Arts programs at each concert for many seasons to come.

MCCA brings their Members seven nationally known concerts, October through April.  Yes, one Saturday evening per month, MCCA hosts the best from Las Vegas, Nashville, Branson and Broadway, with no out of town travel required.  All concerts are held at the 1000+ seat Auditorium of Christ Fellowship, 2801 Orchid Drive, McKinney, TX.  All professional headliner concerts are opening this year with McKinney ISD Fine Arts student performances as talented as the McKinney Boyd Alumni, Holly Cavanaugh featured on America's Got Talent three seasons ago.  All professionals today in the entertainment industry experienced a strong Arts education, and our McKinney students do just that in MISD.

McKinney Concerts Association welcomes headliner Joe Gransden and his Big Band on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 7:30pm.  All Association memberships of $95 include a ticket to each of the 7 season concerts with MISD student features before shows and during intermissions.  Join the association at www.mckinneycommunityconcerts.org and enjoy this exciting venture for seven fabulously fun live performances of musical entertainment!
