Lewisville ISD Council Of PTAs Back The Future Event Rallies For Education

Members of the Lewisville ISD Council of PTAs(Parent Teacher Association) will kick off the 2014-2015 school year by rallying parents to back the future of Texas education.

As Texas heads into the 84th Legislative Session, the “One Voice.  One Vote.  One United PTA.”  event hopes to energize parents and the LISD community to show a united front in support of key education initiatives.

“This rally is an opportunity for parents, teachers, community members and legislators to “Back The Future.”  said Naseem Razvi, president of LISD Council of PTAs.  “We want to empower our community to create the best and brightest future for our children.  Once again, education is a priority for us this legislative session.”

LISD Council of PTAs is focusing on the following three initiatives:  Reduction of STARR Testing for grades 3-8, HB5 Implementation, and Opposing school vouchers.

The event will host three State Representatives and provide an opportunity for parents to voice their feedback on the initiatives previously mentioned.

State Representatives Pat Fallon, Ron Simmons, and Tan Parker will be on hand to speak to parents representing 13 Communities and 64 schools within LISD.

The rally, which will be open to the public, is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. and will be held at Lewisville High School’s Leo C. Stuver Auditorium.
