Prestonwood Christian Academy's new North Campus in Prosper welcomed more than 50 students on the first day of school!

Today Prestonwood Christian Academy (PCA) officially opened the doors of its new campus in Prosper welcoming more than 50 students in Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 4th grade.  In addition, seventeen new faculty and staff members have joined PCA North from both public and private schools in the area.

PCA North is located in the recently completed addition of Prestonwood Baptist Church North Campus at the intersection of Prosper Trail and the Dallas North Tollway in Prosper serving students from Prosper, Celina, North Frisco, McKinney, Little Elm and other communities in the area surrounding U.S. Highway 380.

Principal Donna Leadford brings her passion for Christian education and more than 30 years of experience to PCA North, and she also served as Lower School principal at Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano from 2000 through 2005. “The excitement about PCA North is incredible,” said Leadford. “These new students will be able to look back and know they were a part of helping establish a campus that will provide Kingdom education for many, many years.”

PCA North celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 4, 2014, along with pastors from Prestonwood Baptist Church, Mayors of Frisco and Prosper, new PCA North families and the Chambers from Prosper, Frisco, and Allen/Fairview.  A formal proclamation from the office of Congressman Sam Johnson was shared: “A Christian education not only empowers our next generation of leaders to work hard and persevere and reach their fullest potential but live a life according to God’s will,” Congressman Johnson wrote. “I am pleased to see PCA grow and have the opportunity to reach children and parents in more communities, including Prosper, Celina, North Frisco and McKinney.”

PCA North is an extension of Prestonwood Christian Academy in Plano in which more than 1,500 students are enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten 3 through 12th grade. The Christian school focuses on the education, training and overall formation of a child’s heart and mind. PCA North continues to accept applications for the 2014-15 school year.  Interested families should call 972.798.6780 to set up a tour.

The mission of Prestonwood Christian Academy is to assist Christian parents by helping equip students to embrace biblical truth, strive for academic excellence and model Christ-like leadership to influence their homes, churches and communities for Christ. With more than 1,500 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12, PCA is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and is a ministry of Prestonwood Baptist Church, located in Plano, Texas. The school also has a campus serving more than 60 students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 4 in Prosper, TX, and a Virtual Academy at www.pcaplus.org.
