Twelve Schools Compete For Share Of $20,000 Cash Prizes In A+ Rewards Program At Collin Creek

A dozen schools in Plano and Richardson have enrolled in the 2014-15 A+ Rewards program at Collin Creek Mall. A+ Rewards is the shopping center’s community program that awards $20,000 in cash to participating schools during a school year.

Schools enrolled in A+ Rewards compete with each other for the highest accumulation of points during the 2014-15 school year to earn a share of a $15,000 cash. The three schools with the most points will split $15,000 cash, including $7,500 for first place; $5,000 for second place; and $2,500 for third place. The program is open to both private and public schools in the Plano and Richardson areas.

Additionally, participating schools are eligible to win cash in the A+ Honor Roll, where schools earning as few as 100 total points in a six-week grading period will be entered in a random drawing for $1,000 cash. A $1,000 prize will be awarded to a qualifying school during each of the first five grading periods of the school year.

Schools earn points in a variety of ways in the A+ Rewards. For 2014-15, the program has been updated and schools have an opportunity to earn points not only for shopping at the mall, but also for a variety of extra credit items such as campus-initiated community service projects, participation in mall events, in-school bulletin boards, Facebook participation and more. Total points earned by a participating school will be divided by student enrollment in order to allow all schools, regardless of enrollment, to compete fairly.

The 12 schools competing in the 2014-15 program include Bowman Middle School; Carlisle Elementary School; Carpenter Middle School; Christie Elementary School; Draper Intermediate School; Hickey Elementary School; David McCall Elementary School; Meadows Elementary School; Otto Middle School; Schimelpfenig Middle School; Sigler Elementary School; and Williams High School.

Collin Creek Mall launched A+ Rewards in 2010 [formerly known as My School’s Cool] and since its inception, the shopping center has gifted area schools with $90,000 in cash prizes. Each participating school signs a pledge committing to program participation. The pledge promotes honesty and accountability on the part of the participating schools.

Receipts dated Friday, August 1, 2014 through Sunday, May 10, 2015 can be redeemed for points. All receipts must be turned in to the mall by Friday, May 15, 2015 to be counted towards the program. Application forms can be picked up in the Mall Management Office, located on the upper level near the Food Court.
