The Legacy Senior Communities Announces Yes! Fundraiser Featuring Guest Speaker Jane Pauley

The Legacy Senior Communities, a non-profit charitable organization, will hold its annual “Yes! Event” Fundraiser on November 19 at the AT&T Performing Arts Center to benefit The Legacy Preston Hollow – Dallas Home for the Jewish Aged and The Legacy at Home. The Legacy Senior Communities have provided care to seniors of all faiths in Dallas for more than 60 years. This year’s event will include a discussion with renowned journalist, anchor and author Jane Pauley. She will speak to guests about reinventing themselves and will highlight the lessons she has learned throughout her life. Pauley will offer humor, insight and perspective on the future with a simple message: the years to come are perhaps the best years for baby boomers.

“We are thrilled to have Jane Pauley as the speaker at this year’s event,” said Andrea Statman, director of development of The Legacy Senior Communities. “She has inspired us on television for many years, and we can learn a lot from her about following our dreams. She is the perfect person to share an encouraging message at our event as we raise money to assist seniors in North Texas.”

The luncheon will also pay tribute to a local hero. The inaugural Carmen Miller Michael Legacy Senior Communities award will be presented to Molly Bogen, executive director of The Senior Source. This award was established to honor the memory of Carmen Miller Michael by recognizing the dedication of those who make it their life’s mission to advance understanding and improve the quality of life for people dealing with the issues of aging, mental health, and cognitive challenges.

“We are honored and humbled every year when we see the tremendous outpouring of support for the ‘Yes! Event,’” said Michael Ellentuck, president and CEO of The Legacy Senior Communities. “Our organization has provided quality senior living and care options for more than six decades, and we are thankful for the community’s continued generosity each and every year.”

The event committee’s co-chairs include Carol Aaron, Candy Brown, Elaine Pearlman, Linda Garner, Ruthy Rosenberg, Amy Korenvaes and Maddy Unterberg. Proceeds will go toward The Legacy Preston Hollow Residents’ Assistance Fund, which provides charitable support for residents who rely on The Legacy Senior Communities for the cost of their daily care and for the extra services that enrich their lives. Proceeds also will benefit The Legacy at Home to provide help for seniors who remain in their own homes but need financial assistance for personal care services that keep them safe and independent.

The Legacy Senior Communities’ “Yes! Event: Luncheon: On Stage with Jane Pauley” will be held November 19th, at Noon at the AT&T Performing Arts Center in the Winspear Opera House. There will be a silent auction, and tickets are $200. Sponsorship opportunities are available. For more information about the Yes! Event luncheon and sponsorship opportunities, visit The Legacy Senior Communities Yes! Event page.
