Dallas Area Romantic Restaurants

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching several romantic restaurants are on the top of my list.  St. Martin’s Wine Bistro on Lower Greenville could be the most romantic place in Dallas.  This place will make you feel like you're in a bistro in France or Italy.  Each evening there’s a pianist playing romantic tunes just to get you in the mood making every day Valentine’s Day at St. Martin’s!  Enjoy prime steaks, fresh seafood, roast duck and sautéed chicken.  Top the evening off with a Chocolate or Gran Marnier Soufflé!

Next on the list is Abacus Restaurant featuring American, Southwest, Mediterranean and Asian Infusion dishes.   Stop in at the world class bar before dinner for a crisp glass of wine or one of their unique craft cocktails just to get the evening started.  You and your date will experience a truly romantic dining experience beginning with a Sushi appetizer followed by their famous Lobster-Scallion Shooters, then sharing an Allen Brothers Prime Dry Aged 12oz New York Strip so you can enjoy the German Chocolate Mousse Cake for dessert.

A memorable evening indeed!  Brian & Courtney Luscher's The Grape Restaurant could be a romantic bistro in New York, Paris or Florence.  You can be assured that Courtney (also the Sommelier) will have that special bottle of wine to make your evening special.  The menu at this renowned establishment is always in season.  There’s something for everyone! Steak, chicken and seafood dishes are prepared with the finest ingredients fresh daily.  The Classic Crème Brulee is one of my favorite desserts ever!

When I’m in the North Dallas/Addison area my first choice is Chamberlain’s Steak and Chop House.  You are greeted as if you were their number one customer so you know this is a special place indeed.  No one prepares beef and seafood better than Richard Chamberlain!  Everything is the finest in Dallas!  Order the Deviled Eggs, Chop House Salad, Seared Ahi Tuna, Filet Mignon and top your dinner off with White Chocolate Coconut Cream Pie!  Out of this world!

Another romantic bistro is Boulevardier in the Bishop Arts District.  This French Bistro is worth the drive across the Trinity River.  Definitely French but with a twist of New Orleans in the background.  It’s a cozy place that will definitely get you in the romantic mood!  Start out with some Crawfish Beignets, fresh Oysters or fresh Mussels.   Next have the Berkshire Pork Chop, Hereford Ribeye or the fresh seasonal seafood!  Leave room for Nancy’s Bread Pudding one of the best in town!

Locally owned and operated by Chef Jean-Marie Cadot his Cadot Restaurant in North Dallas serves only authentic French cuisine.  Save room for the Specialty soufflé - Grand Marnier, Chocolate or Raspberry & Beignets served with three sauces.  Spectacular desserts!  No other establishment can compete with Chef Jean-Marie’s recipes!  Here’s my order….. Crispy Duck Wrap Confit topped with Apricot Orange sauce, Mixed Greens With Warm Goat Cheese, Prosciutto, Pine Nuts, Asparagus topped with Balsamic Vinaigrette, Sea Scallops & Shrimp, Linguini With Mushrooms, Spinach,Champagne Sauce for the lady and Short Ribs Braised ,With Petite Syrah Sauce, Mousseline Potatoes, Horseradish, Baby Arugula for the gentleman.

Mignon Restaurant is a neighborhood retro French steakhouse specializing in delicious, melt in your mouth, prime steaks and fresh seafood.  Dine on the waterside patio (weather permitting) and you will feel like you’re in Venice.  This locally owned and operated establishment has something for everyone.  Enjoy the Apple Smoked Bacon Wrapped Texas Quail with a glass of wine before dinner just to get in the romantic mood.  The Lobster Bisque and The French Onion soup begin a lovely evening.  Then feast on Sea Bass, Diver Scallops, Roasted Chicken, Lobster and, of course, Filet Mignon!

DISH Restaurant is another fine dining restaurant that offers a romantic experience in a modern facility with a superb enclosed patio (it will be open if the weather is nice!).  You will select wine by the glass or bottle from an extensive list.  For starters try the Grilled Lamb Meatball Lollipops or Coconut Steamed Pei Mussels.  Follow up with the DISH Burger, the Bourbon Marinated Pork Chop, Lemon Roasted Chicken or Bacon Wrapped Jumbo Gulf Shrimp.  And for dessert The Banana Split (you can't believe it......it’s divine!).

Last but not least if you’re near the Shops at Legacy in Plano Jasper’s is the number one steak and seafood restaurant for you.  Service is always impeccable.  The world class bar is a perfect place to arrive early to sip a glass of wine or a craft cocktail before dinner.  You will have a memorable evening!  Start with the Creamy Ricotta Flatbread and compliment with the Grilled Tuna Tataki, Tuna Tartar.  For your salad try the healthy Curly Spinach-Baby Kale Salad.  Entrees include Pimentón Rotisserie Chicken, the Bone-In Cowboy Ribeye (best in Dallas!) and the Pan Seared Branzini.  Everything on the menu is first class!

There are a lot of romantic places in Dallas.  These are a few of my favorites!  And one bit of advice since Valentine’s Day is on Saturday every restaurant is likely to be busy.  You might think about dining out before or after Valentine’s Day in one of these fine dining establishments celebrating in your romantic way and popping in a Netflix Saturday evening after dinner at home all cuddled up with each other.  This combination could very well be a very memorable, romantic Valentine Day indeed!
