New Hub Streat Truck Park and Restaurant for Downtown Plano

The city of Plano Planning and Zoning Commission approved a Special Use Permit for a proposed Food Truck Park and Restaurant for downtown Plano.

Hub Streat Food Port is a brand new concept in food service devoted to cultivating community and excitement through a fusion of gourmet food trucks, a full-service restaurant, catering services, live music and a dog-friendly social courtyard.

The Hub embodies a casual, comfortable, contemporary, pop-in-after-work and bring the dog environment. Seasonal and themed events will take place throughout the year, highlighting locally produced fresh foods and entertainment.

Mr. West describes Hub Streat as a “Food Driven, Chef Inspired Social Gathering Place to celebrate life with like-minded folks”.

HUB Streat Food Port is the brainchild of James West, a Texas native, and Robert Aitken of Philadelphia. The two founders also own award-winning restaurants and gourmet food trucks in the Philadelphia area.

Mr. West and real estate agent Paul Vernon of the John T. Evans Company looked at many possible cities and locations.  Ultimately they settled on historic downtown Plano based on the urban redevelopment already under way.  The combination of a new residential base, proximity to the Dart rail line and the existing retail and restaurants made this a very appealing area. Mr. Vernon stated, “I believe that the Hub Streat Restaurant location on Ave K and 14th Street will be a natural extension of the current downtown Plano culture.”

“I am very appreciative of the support the City of Plano has shown towards our efforts to construct a Food Truck Park in the downtown area. We could not be more excited to be taking part in the city’s efforts to create an exciting and vibrate downtown area,” said Mr. West.

Mr. West and Mr. Aitken hope to be under construction by late spring and open Hub Streat Food Port to the public by late summer!
