Texas Bluebonnet Seed Still Available

The fall wildflower seeding program, sponsored by the Collin County Soil & Water Conservation District, will continue through October 15, while supplies last.  The District only has a few pounds of seed remaining.  One pound bags of scarified Texas Bluebonnet seed are available for $33 per pound, and the one pound bags of Texas Native Wildflower mix are available for $25 per pound and include 20 different varieties of wildflowers including Engelmann Daisy, Lemon Mint, Mexican Hat, Showy Evening Primrose and  Standing Cypress.  Native flowers require less water than conventional landscaping flowers and can better withstand our sometimes extreme Texas climate.  Wildflowers also add beauty to our landscape and provide food for butterflies and wildlife.

Wildflower seed packages are available at the District office, 1404 N. McDonald Street, Suite 100, in McKinney through October 15 or while supplies last.  Please call before you come to ensure that seed is still available and that employees are not in the field assisting landowners 972-542-0081 ext. 3.  Cash or checks only are accepted.  Now is the optimal time for planting these seeds for spring color!  Planting instructions will be provided with purchase.
