Players in the Plano East Senior High baseball program recently joined members of the Plano East Baseball Booster Club to prepare the baseball fields at McMillen, Williams and Plano East for the upcoming high school baseball season.
“I am very proud of the young men in our baseball program,” said Jordan Byrd, Plano East Baseball Head Coach. “In the off season, they volunteered to open car doors for elementary students and help teachers in classrooms. Our young men visited Plano and Murphy police departments and fire stations to thank the men and women for their service. They gave up their Saturday morning to clean, repair and paint to get everything in shape at all three of our schools’ facilities. Now they’re ready to compete against other high schools in the 2020 baseball season. I’m excited to see these guys play at a very high level.”
The Plano East Baseball season kicks off Saturday, February 8 with a Varsity doubleheader against Frisco Independence at noon and Lewisville at 1:45 p.m. at Frisco Independence. PESH Junior Varsity will follow with a 3:30 p.m. scrimmage at Frisco Independence. McMillen will scrimmage Frisco Independence at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 8 at Plano East, followed by a 2:30 p.m. scrimmage between Williams and Frisco Independence. Special recognition nights at Plano East include: Administrators Night March 17; Alumni Day March 21; Service Men & Women Night March 27; Teacher Appreciation Night with the Choir from Schell Elementary singing the National Anthem April 3; Feeder School Night April 9; Cancer Awareness Night April 14; and Senior Recognition Night May 1.
