The latest designer eyewear collections will be on display alongside stunning artwork from world-renowned Dallas artist Rolando Diaz at a trunk show benefiting the Kidd’s Kids charitable organization. Popular radio personality Kellie Rasberry, from the nationally syndicated Kidd Kraddick in the Morning program, will also appear at the event.

The high-end trunk show and art exhibition – “An Evening to Remember” – will be held on Saturday, December 8, from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. at Eye Pieces, inside the Shops at Legacy in Plano (7200 Bishop Road, Suite D-14).  Eye Pieces – Plano is the state-of-the-art optometric practice of Dr. Robert Birenbaum.

The red carpet extravaganza will feature new eyewear collections from David Yurman, Chanel, Chrome Hearts and Tom Ford, along with artwork by internationally acclaimed artist Rolando Diaz.

Trunk Show guests will receive a 20 percent discount on all eyewear purchased at the event. In addition, Eye Pieces will donate a portion of all the eyewear sales to Kidd’s Kids.

“Our last trunk show raised more than $2,500 for Kidd’s Kids, and we’re hoping to double that total this time as our guests do some Christmas shopping,” said Dr. Birenbaum, owner of Eye Pieces – Plano.  “We’re excited to be introducing some of the most cutting-edge eyewear on the market today, along with the extraordinary artwork of Rolando Diaz, who I think is the finest artist in Dallas.”

Dr. Birenbaum partnered with Kidd’s Kids earlier in the year to extend his practice, products and services at no cost to the children served by the charity. Every child involved with Kidd’s Kids has been offered complimentary eye exams at his Eye Pieces – Plano practice. In addition, all Kidd’s Kids in need of prescription eye wear can receive complimentary corrective lenses.

“I’ve had the honor of attending several Kidd’s Kids events with Kidd Kraddick and his crew, including the special departure event at Love Field for last month’s trip to Disney World,” said “Dr. Bob,” as his younger clientele knows him. “Most of the kids served by the charity need expert eye care and prescription products, and it’s been my privilege to serve them in this way.”

Kidd’s Kids, a program of the Kraddick Foundation, was established in 1991 with the hope of making a difference in the lives of terminally and chronically ill children. Each year, Kidd's Kids offers five amazing days of suspended reality to children whose lives have been ravaged by disease, with an all-expenses paid trip to Disney World for the kids and their immediate family.

At the 2012 Kidd’s Kids send-off to Walt Disney World on November 8, Dr. Birenbaum donated sunglasses to each of the children who were about to board the chartered plane for the trip of a lifetime.

“Dr. Bob has stepped up for Kidd’s Kids in such an incredible way, not only with the free sunglasses, but by offering free exams to these wonderful children,” said Kidd Kraddick. “With more than 150 of our kids living in the DFW area, there is a tremendous need for professional eye care, and many of the families we serve simply can’t afford it on top of their already-massive medical bills.”

All guests who attend the December 8 trunk show will be treated to a delicious array of hors d’oeuvres and live musical entertainment. Complimentary valet services will also be available.
