The City of Palms Classic, played at Bishop Verot High School in Fort Myers, FL, began in 1973 as a local holiday tournament and is now considered the premier boys’ high school tournament in the nation. The Lions will be starting with a different roster after a tough start to their season that has been plagued with injuries. The Lions’ team will be led by Senior point guard Marquan Botley.
“This is a great opportunity to play in front of college coaches and a good time for our younger kids to get the experience,” said Head Coach Chris Mayberry.
The first game for the Lions will be as follows:
Wednesday, Dec 19 - 2:30 p.m. vs. Memphis Southwind (Tenn.)
The rest of their schedule will depend on the outcome of their first game. The championship game is set to be played on Saturday, December 22, at 9 p.m. EST. The City of Palms Classic will have live coverage via webcast at http://www.livestream.com/cityofpalmsclassic.
