As the 2012 presidential election nears, Collin College is taking a hands-on approach to helping voters make informed decisions regarding each candidate by scheduling three Debate Watch events.
The first Debate Watch is scheduled for 8-10 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, followed by 8-10 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16, and 8-10 p.m., Monday, Oct. 22.
Free and open to the public, Debate Watch can be viewed at the Central Park Campus Conference Center, 2200 W. University Drive, Plano; Preston Ridge Campus Conference Center, 9700 Wade Blvd., Frisco; or Spring Creek Campus Living Legends Conference Center, 2800 E. Spring Creek Parkway, Plano. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m.
The Debate Watch includes a big-screen presentation of the televised presidential debate. Sponsored by Collin College’s Center for Scholarly and Civic Engagement and Student Life, the event is an opportunity for individuals to gather facts and opinions about the presidential candidates in order to make an informed vote in November.
In addition to the presidential debates, Collin College will host a Debate Watch for the vice presidential candidates from 8-10 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 11 at the aforementioned locations.
The last day to register to vote for the 2012 presidential election is Tuesday, Oct. 16.
