This weekend’s weather should be perfect for the InTouch Credit Union Plano Balloon Festival, set for Sept. 21, 22 and 23.  The event will be a blast for North Texas residents of all ages and from all communities, so head out to Oak Point Park in Plano and check out the festivities. 

The event will feature a balloon glow and competitions, sky divers, live music, a car and truck show, fireworks, a half-marathon, 5K and one-mile fun run, and a special section for children at the Kids Fun Zone. 

General admission for the Plano Balloon Festival is $5 for one-time admission.  Admission is $4 for seniors ages 65 and older, and kids under 36 inches tall get in free. 

A schedule of the weekend’s events at the Plano Balloon Festival is below:

 

Friday, September 21, 2012 

  • 4 p.m.             Festival Opens and Bus Service Begins
  • 5:30 p.m.        RE/MAX Parachute Team Exhibition
  • 6 p.m.             Balloon Launch presented by RE/MAX (weather permitting)
  • 7 p.m.             Signed Sealed Delivered in Concert on the KLUV Main Stage
  • 8 p.m.             Balloon Glow presented by Quaker Steak & Lube
  • 8:45 p.m.        Signed Sealed Delivered in Concert on the KLUV Main Stage
  • 10 p.m.           Festival Closes

 

Saturday, September 22, 2012 

  • 6 a.m.             Gates & Parking Lots Open and Bus Service Begins
  • 6:30 a.m.        Pre-Launch Balloon Glow - "Wake up Plano"
  • 7 a.m.             Balloon Launch presented by the City of Plano (weather permitting)
  • 8 a.m.             Balloon Fly-In Competition
  • 11 a.m.           Morning Maniacs Custom Car Show
  • 4 p.m.             Custom Car Show Award Presentations
  • 5:30 p.m.        RE/MAX Parachute Team Exhibition
  • 6 p.m.             Balloon Launch presented by InTouch Credit Union (weather permitting)
  • 7 p.m.             Colt and the Old 45's in Concert on the KLUV Main Stage
