On Saturday and Sunday, May 11 and 12, Carter BloodCare will be at Collin Creek Mall seeking donations of whole blood and platelets. The drive is part of Carter’s Great Partners reward system, where individuals earn points for donations and are able to redeem points for a variety of rewards.

The mobile blood donation unit will be in the parking lot on the east side near Sears. The platelet donation center will be inside the mall on the lower level near Sears. Times are Saturday, May 11 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 12 from 12 to 6 p.m.

Everyone who donates on May 11 or 12 will be automatically registered as a Great Partner and will begin acquiring points for donation. The points can be redeemed for Great Rewards, which can be accessed at www.carterbloodcare.org.

Walk-in donors are welcome, but individuals can make an appointment by calling 817.412.5245. Donors with appointments will be taken first.

Potential donors for blood or platelets must be at least 17 years old, or 16 years old with a parent’s consent, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health. Photo ID is required. There is no upper age limit for donors, and most medications do not interfere with donor eligibility.
