Seven Trinity Christian Academy Seniors Named 2013 National Merit Finalists

All seven seniors at Trinity Christian Academy (TCA) who previously qualified as semifinalists have now been named finalists in the 2013 National Merit® Scholarship program, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s competition for recognition and scholarships.

TCA’s qualifying students are Emily Floch of Dallas, Jonathan Harper of Dallas, Mandaline Kam of Richardson, Brian Kegerreis of Plano, Tobias Kim of Richardson, Michael Novakovich of Dallas and Austin Perschbacher of Coppell.

"TCA is very proud of these seven seniors, and we recognize the significant effort required to accomplish this level of excellence,” said Dave Delph, TCA Headmaster.

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation selects 15,000 students as finalists out of the nearly 1.5 million entries it receives, and approximately 8,300 of the finalists will be named National Merit scholars between March and June 2013.

The 15,000 finalists will be judged on their abilities, skills and accomplishments. Scholarship winners are chosen based on their academic record, information about their school's curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, their high school official's written recommendation, information about the student's activities and leadership, and the finalist's own essay.
