Murphy Veterans Tribute to honor all military veterans
The Murphy Veterans Tribute is a project that will be constructed to honor all military veterans; past, present and future and this began as a grass roots group of citizens. As interest grew for this project, members joined hands with the Murphy Historical Society, and are now a Committee within the Historical Society called the Murphy Veterans Tribute (MVT).
The Veterans Tribute has been in the planning stages since January 2017 and will be constructed on a 100’ X 100’ tract of land located at the entrance to Murphy Central Park, on the northeast side of the PSA parking lot.
On Veterans Day, 2018, we broke ground with a formal ceremony at the site with City officials and citizens present. Mayor Scott Bradley, an Army veteran himself, is very supportive of this grass roots initiative since the beginning and said, “I believe it is important to remember and celebrate those Americans that have served, fought and died for this county”. This project will have a prominent location in the Murphy Central Park.” We are now moving forward to have the site surveyed and engineering plans made for the site preparation and clearing of the grounds.
The MVP will be hosting Gala event on March 22, 2019 at Cross Creek Ranch in Parker, Texas to begin raising funds for this purpose. Please call numbers above or go to www.murphyveteranstribute.com for more information
