Located at Spring Creek and Dallas North Tollway, the new luxury automobile dealership is pursuing LEED certification.

Park Place Dealerships, one of the largest automobile dealership groups in the country, opened its newest venture on Sept. 7, a multi-million dollar, 170,000 square-foot Lexus showroom and service facility just three and a half miles from its previous location in the Dallas suburb of Plano. After 15 expansions over the last 22 years, Park Place Lexus Plano outgrew its facility, which prompted the need to build from the ground up. It took about 14 months to complete the new dealership.

Situated on 27.5 acres, the site overlooks a heavily traveled toll road through the heart of North Texas. With tens of thousands of vehicles passing through the Dallas North Tollway and Spring Creek Parkway every day, Park Place designed the exterior elevation to maximize the visibility of the dealership.

“We have created a beautiful blade wall that starts at 35 feet on one end and rises to 50 feet at the other with the Lexus emblem sitting at the top of the 300-foot-long wall,” said Ken Schnitzer, chairman of Park Place dealerships.

“It will be difficult to miss our new location. The architecture of this dealership draws attention from both the northbound and southbound traffic to Park Place Lexus Plano.”

Nearly twice the size of the previous dealership, the modern design features classic and sophisticated interior finishes. Known to draw inspiration from world-class retailers, Park Place has selected white marble with hints of grey and tan tones for countertops, client lounges, and tabletops throughout the dealership. The hardwood floors are contrasted with shimmering mica walls, sleek glass, and gallery lighting. Every detail has been meticulously selected right down to the artwork, which features original works by North Texas artists. The dealership is also "green" and is seeking LEED certification.

“We spent countless hours with the design team selecting materials to create a comfortable environment,” Jordan Case, president and managing partner of Park Place Lexus.

“Everything we chose, we designed with the client in mind, such as the six-foot marble bar in the beverage center and the furniture in the sales offices. We continually asked ourselves how these choices would impact the client experience.”

With five client lounges located throughout Park Place Lexus Plano, guests will be able to choose the perfect spot to relax to fit their mood. The main client lounge will be a hub to gather for complimentary beverages and snacks, or read, watch television, or shop in the boutique. Private workstations with custom desks offer access to computers and telephones.

The service facility has been built with expansion in mind before one car has driven through the doors. With 109 service bays and 15 make ready bays, technicians will work with state-of-the-art equipment in a well-lit, air-conditioned, and heated environment. A guest lounge overlooks the service shop so clients can watch their vehicles undergoing service.

The three-story parts department will house more than 13,000 parts and will allow Park Place to stock more items and thus reduce the wait time for the client to have new parts installed.

“Park Place Lexus Plano opened in 1991 with 36 employees, and today, more than 320 people are employed by the dealership, with that number expected to rise as our business grows,” said Case. “We hire people who have great attitudes, and then give them the tools and resources to offer clients an exceptional ownership experience.”

Park Place continues to invest in creating facilities that are client-friendly, efficient, and an enjoyable environment for all its employees.

Ken Schnitzer founded Park Place Dealerships in 1987 with a single Mercedes-Benz dealership in Dallas. Today, Park Place Dealerships operates 15 full-service dealerships representing Bentley, Jaguar, Lexus, Lotus, Maserati, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Infiniti, Volvo and Rolls-Royce. In addition, the dealership group includes two Park Place Bodywerks locations and has a third store under construction. For more information about Park Place Dealerships, click here.
