Professional chamber choir The Texas Voices kicks off its 11th season of public concerts with Ladies’ Night: Music of Women Composerson Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1919 Independence Pkwy. in Plano.

Move over Bach and Beethoven. It’s time for the ladies to take center stage! This concert features a variety of choral selections from some of today’s most acclaimed female composers, including Dede Duson, Debra Scroggins, Eleanor Daley, Joni Jensen, and M.E. Valverde.

As a Halloween bonus, experience a special performance of the Texas Choral Directors Association’s 2013 commissioned work, Vespertilians, by Jocelyn Hagen. The spooky text, taken from Ovid’s masterwork, “Metamorphoses,” describes three women and their transformation into bats.

Guest artists include: James Loeffler, piano and organ; Kelley Chambers, piano; and Julianna Simonfalvi, child soloist.

Season tickets are $75 for general admission, $55 for seniors (65+), and $30 for students. Flex passes (6 tickets) are $85 and are good for any combination of performances. Individual tickets are $25 for general admission, $20 for seniors (65+), and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased online at www.thetexasvoices.org, at the door, or by calling 214-384-6336.
