LifePoint Church volunteers Michael and Becky helped students at the Fall Festival with the hula hoop game and passed out prizes.

Plano’s LifePoint Church hosted the fifth annual Fall Festival for Meadows Elementary School Friday, November 1, from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. Volunteers and staff from the church coordinated an array of activities and carnival games with prizes, along with hot dog dinners for everyone who attended. LifePoint is located in Plano at 4501 Hedgcoxe Rd. Meadows Elementary is located in East Plano.

“At LifePoint, we believe in creating partnerships outside the church walls and in supporting the community as a whole,” said Senior Pastor George Feiser. “We go where there is a need and we are proud to have created a long term partnership with the school.”

“The church’s support goes beyond the annual fall festival,” said Principal Sandra Muzquiz. “LifePoint stocked our school supply store, which the church also designed and built, with fun logoed school supplies the kids can ‘purchase’ with incentive points earned in the classroom. They provide stuffed bulldogs for student Top Dog monthly awards and host staff appreciation events at the beginning and end of the school year.”

While at the Fall Festival, students had their faces painted and played games such as Don’t Spill the Paint, Lollipop Pull, Porcelain Throne, Putt Putt and Strike ‘Em Out. Families enjoyed hot dogs, chips, popcorn and cookies served by school volunteers, church members and staff, including Pastor George.

“There are many low income families in Collin County who can use our assistance,” said Feiser. “People think that because we are in Plano there isn’t a need, but that is a misconception.” Meadows Elementary currently has 550 students, 88 percent of whom are on the reduced or free lunch program.
