Plano-Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic Awards 2021 Scholarships

Plano-Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic (PRAP) announced the award of five $1,000 scholarships to North Texas young women at the organization’s year-end meeting on May 19, 2021.  This year’s recipients are Meg Cartwright, Aubrie Rhodes, Ashleigh Somich, Alexandra Armer, and Peyton Furtick.

Meg Cartwright attends The University of Texas in Austin where she is pursuing a B.S. in Nursing.  She is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha, has served as Chaplain, University Panhellenic Council Recruitment Counselor, and ranks highest in chapter involvement out of 262 members.  Meg is a 2018 graduate of Plano Senior High School and is the daughter of Tom and Kristi Cartwright of Plano.

Aubrie Rhodes is a senior Accounting and Human Resource Management major at Baylor University.  She is Vice President of Finance and prior Recruitment Director for Alpha Delta Pi.  Aubrie graduated from Plano Senior High in 2018 and is the daughter of Deborah Burton-Rhodes and the late Edward Rhodes of Plano

Ashleigh Somich is a student at Texas A&M University and plans to graduate with a B.B.A. in Management Information Systems.  Ashleigh has held the positions of Director of Academic Affairs, Finance Specialist, and Recruitment Analyst for Alpha Delta Pi.  She is a 2018 graduate of Plano Senior High and is the daughter of Scott and Katherine Somich of Plano. 

Alexandra Armer will attend The University of Texas at Austin where she will major in Psychology. She is a 2021 graduate of Lake Highlands High School and is the daughter of Darrell and Christen Armer of Dallas.

Peyton Furtick will major in Engineering at Texas A&M University this fall.  She is a 2021 graduate of John Paul II High School and is the daughter of Jeremy and Sara Furtick of Murphy.

The applications are judged based on extracurricular involvement, leadership, community service, personal goals, and academic performance.  “Each year we are overwhelmed by the accomplishments of the young women who apply, and we’re extremely proud of the 2021 scholarship recipients,” said Diane Goebel, Scholarship Committee Chair.

“PRAP is dedicated to providing scholarship opportunities through our fundraising efforts,” said President, Kimberly Zinser.  “We are thrilled to support the educational dreams and Greek life involvement of these deserving young women.” 

Plano-Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic, an organization of more than 100 women dedicated to promoting inter-fraternity friendship and collaboration, is affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC).  Membership is open to alumnae of the 26 NPC member sororities, and members meet monthly for social activities, informative programs, philanthropy, and fundraising events.  PRAP also hosts a sorority recruitment information forum each spring.  For more information, visit
