Vetsavers Pet Hospital Hosts Community Pet Food Distribution Saturday, Dec. 19

Vetsavers Pet Hospital in North Dallas, along with the generous support of many clients and vendors, are giving away pet food, treats, toys, shampoo and beds on Saturday, Dec. 19, from 10 a.m. to noon on a first-come, first-served basis. The philanthropic effort shines a light on the magnified role of pets during Covid-19.

The community drive-through event seeks to help neighboring pets and their pet parents that may be having difficulty during the COVID19 pandemic. For the convenience of neighbors, all products will be pre-boxed and offered on a first come first serve basis while supplies last.

“Pets have played an invaluable role in 2020 by helping isolated people and others suffering from mental distress to cope with the challenges of Covid-19,” said Dr. Sue Lee Mace with Vetsavers that has operated a pet hospital and clinic in Carrollton for seven years and opened its North Dallas location earlier this year. “Pet ownership and adoption is up locally, and there’s a story to be told about pet care in this challenging time.”

On Dec. 19, Vetsavers will be giving away several hundred bags of food to provide some relief to all its neighbors in need at its Dallas location, facing 19009 Preston Road, a half a mile south of the George Bush Turnpike.

Vetsavers staff will place the pre-boxed supplies at the rear of each car which can then be loaded by guests using safe distancing guidelines.
