Choose from one of three worship services and bring Easter baskets for the children for an Easter Egg Hunt in the outfield!

St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Plano is excited to hold this year’s Easter weekend worship services at the home of the Frisco RoughRiders Dr Pepper Ballpark, 7300 Roughriders Trail, to provide the community an opportunity to gather in a socially distanced, outdoor worship environment. The stadium is conveniently located on the northeast corner of Highway 121 and the North Dallas Tollway in Frisco. Three Easter worship services will be offered: Saturday, April 3, 7 p.m.  and Sunday, April 4 at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. with each service followed by an Easter Egg Hunt in the outfield. Children are asked to bring their Easter baskets, and the Easter Bunny will stop by to wish everyone a Happy Easter. There will be special photo opportunities for families in the outfield of the stadium after each egg hunt.

“St. Andrew is elated to be able to safely bring people together at the ballpark to celebrate what is one of the most important celebrations in the life of the church,” said Rev. Arthur Jones. “The Easter message is one of hope – a message we all need to hear during these challenging times. Christ’s resurrection gives us the hope of resurrection, transcending all of the suffering we have experienced, especially prevalent for so many during the past year.”

With ample seating, there is no RSVP needed.  In the event of a weather-related cancellation at the ballpark, we invite you to join us online.  For details on all the Holy Week worship opportunities, please check the website at StAndrewumc.org

“When we first explored the idea of celebrating Easter at the ballpark, one of our church members suggested the title for our Easter message should be ‘Sermon on the Mound!’” added Rev. Jones. “Please join us for this unique and joyous outdoor worship experience, bring your families and friends, and don’t forget Easter baskets for the kids. This will be an Easter to celebrate and remember.”

St. Andrew United Methodist Church began in 1986 in the spirit of its namesake, a disciple of Jesus. The life of the Apostle Andrew embodies the church's mission, which is to invite the Christian-ish and the unchurched to become passionate servants of Christ. The congregation of St. Andrew follows Jesus, lives in relationship, serves others, and takes risks in faith. Worship includes four services each weekend on a 21.2-acre campus at the corner of Plano Parkway and Mira Vista in Plano, Texas, where more than 2,000 people gather each weekend. Recent renovation allows the Sanctuary to host worship in both Traditional style, with the classic pipe organ, and Contemporary style, with a new LED center screen and lighting technology. Small groups and Bible studies gather on campus and throughout the region every day of the week. Mission opportunities serve our local area, neighboring regions, and global communities. The church has been repeatedly selected as a "Best Place to Worship in Plano” by the readers of the Plano Star Courier. St. Andrew United Methodist Church is located at 5801 W. Plano Parkway, Plano, Texas 75093. Visit www.standrewumc.org; call 972-380-8001.
