RICHARDSON ADULT LITERACY CENTER WELCOMES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, PATRICIA THOMPSON

Experienced, non-profit executive to lead the literacy group beginning with Murder Mystery Event – The Murder Next Door – on April 9

RICHARDSON, TX – April 8, 2022 – Richardson Adult Literacy Center (RALC), nonprofit providing ESL instruction, career building and conversation support to adults throughout North Texas, has announced the addition of a new executive director, Patricia Thomson. She joins RALC with more than 25 years of experience as a nonprofit executive and plans to lead the organization as it expands the impact on our community.

Thompson will be replacing Sonali Patnaik as the new Executive Director and will be overseeing the growth and development of the nonprofit organization as it continues to meet the needs of hundreds of adults in Richardson who require ESL support.

"I'm looking forward to partnering with the staff, volunteers, donors, and board to enhance our services and expand our reach.  More than ever, there is a great need for English-literacy skills and RALC is here to provide a very valuable service to the health and welfare of the community," said Thomson.

Board President, Rane Burress shared "as much as we are saddened to see Sonali Patnaik accept another opportunity, we are looking forward to working with Patricia. I believe I can speak for the Board of Directors when I say we are excited to experience Patricia's leadership as the Executive Director as she continues to grow RALC in the service of our community."

Thomson continued, “It’s exciting to kickoff my role at RALC with its Murder Mystery – The Murder Next Door - flagship event on Saturday, April 9. I’ll be able to connect with the community and have the opportunity to participate in the live and in-person event to be held at the Richardson Public Library.”
