As the holidays begin for 2014, Collin Creek Mall invites shoppers to share the spirit of the season and adopt an individual from The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree. The shopping center hosts the Angel Tree every year during the holidays and shoppers annually support The Salvation Army’s effort, providing gifts for children and senior citizens throughout the area. In 2013, donors adopted and provided gifts for 2,549 individuals who were able to share in the merriment of the season.

The Angel Tree will be on the upper level near Amazing Jake’s from November 7 through December 10. The tree is decorated with angel tags, containing the wish list of a registered angel who could be a child, aged newborn to 13, or a senior citizen in an area nursing facility. The angel tags are printed with an Angel’s name, age, gender, gift requests and a code number. Each person who selects a tag purchases a gift or gifts for his/her Angel and returns the gift or gifts, unwrapped, to Collin Creek Mall. The gifts are returned to The Salvation Army where they are sorted by their unique code numbers and distributed to the individuals.

The last day to adopt someone from the Angel Tree is December 10. All gifts must be delivered to The Angel Tree by that date. Volunteers will staff the tree throughout the season. Hours are Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.

Collin Creek Mall features over 130 specialty shops, three department stores including JCPenney, Macy’s and Sears, plus numerous eateries and Amazing Jake’s. The shopping center is conveniently located at US 75 Central Expressway and 190 Bush Turnpike. Follow Collin Creek Mall at www.facebook.com/CollinCreekMall or on twitter at @shopcollincreek.
