Brooke Pospichal won three medals at the 2014 USA Diving Junior National Championships.

Eighteen-year-old Brooke Pospichal's family resides in Carrollton, however, the high school senior currently lives in Indiannapolis while training as an elite diver. In fact, Brooke competed at the 2014 USA Diving Junior National Championships in August in Knoxville, TN, bringing home three medals: third place on platform, ninth place on three-meter and third place in the synchronized 10-Meter!  Last year as a junior in high school, Brooke made the difficult decision to move away from her family (she's one of a set of triplets) to concentrate on her sport with a goal of training for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janiero.

Fortunately, Brooke has found a solution that allows her to continue her education while spending hours in the pool each day.  Prestonwood Christian Academy's online school, PCAplus Virtual Academy, has allowed Brooke to keep up with her courses and ensure she still graduates on time in 2015.

"PCAplus Virtual Academy helps me balance my school work and intense training schedule because it allows me to do my work on my timeframe whenever I have breaks," said Brooke. "My teachers are very understanding and helpful and the bibilical worldview woven into the courses has really helped to strengthened my faith."

With PCAplus, as Brooke has found, students can take courses anytime, anywhere and from any computer that has Internet access. PCAplus provides teachers that work and communicate with students to aid in their success, as well as a personal advisor for course work to help students stay on task and on pace to complete their courses. At the completion of the course work, students are sent a transcript verifying grade and credit awarded. Online courses are accredited through AdvancEd, Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and are NCAA eligible.

Many of Brooke's PCAplus Virtual Academy "classmates" are also training in elite sports such as tennis and gymnastics.  Additionally, the online school serves international students and others who have non-traditional schedules and seek a culture of spiritual and scholastic excellence. Last year, a PCAplus student achieved National Merit Commended Scholar status!
