Dunkin’ Donuts, America’s all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, today announced a sweet deal for National Donut Day, celebrated this year on June 6, to bring the joy of donuts to people all around the world. On June 6, participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide will offer guests a free donut of their choice (while supplies last) with the purchase of any beverage. Dunkin’ Donuts guests outside the United States can also take part in the celebration, as this special donut offer is also available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants around the globe.

Dunkin’ Donuts is also helping donut lovers celebrate summer by adding something new and blue to the menu, today unveiling a new Blueberry Cobbler Donut. Featuring a yeast shell donut with delicious blueberry filling, white dipping icing and coffee cake streusel topping, the Blueberry Cobbler Donut is available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide beginning June 2.

Dunkin' Donuts has been a leader in the donut category for nearly 65 years, selling 2.5 billion donuts and MUNCHKINS® donut hole treats annually. Within the United States, Dunkin’ Donuts offers more than 70 varieties of donuts, including beloved flavors such as Boston Kreme, Glazed, Chocolate Glazed Cake and Chocolate Frosted.

National Donut Day, celebrated on the first Friday of June each year, was originally established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I. According to John Costello, president of Global Marketing and Innovation at Dunkin’ Brands, the holiday provides a perfect opportunity to celebrate the delight donuts bring to people all around the world. “As the country’s donut leader, each and every day we see the unique way donuts can create smiles and make any moment a little happier and a little sweeter. We are proud to help people celebrate and enjoy National Donut Day with a free donut at Dunkin’ Donuts with the purchase of any beverage,” he said.
