Girl Scout Service Unit #155 will host their annual bridging ceremony on May 31.  This ceremony recognizes girls who have completed all the steps necessary to more into the next level of Girl Scouting. 

On Saturday, 125 girls will bridge with an additional four being recognized for completing their Gold Award, the highest award in Girl Scouting, requiring more than 80 hours of service for their project.  Three troops of girls will be recognized for earning their Silver Award, which requires to girls to work in small groups and complete over 50 service hours each towards their project.  Five troops of girls will be recognized for earning their Bronze Award, which requires the troop to work together and for each girl to contribute at least 20 service hours towards their project.  Eight girls who sold 500 or more packages of cookies will also be recognized for showing excellent leadership in salesmanship. 

Girls from 17 different schools will be included in the ceremony with attendance from the principals and school staff of these because they recognize the positive impact that Scouting has on developing their students into leaders.     

Throughout the year Service Unit #155 Girl Scouts have participated in many community service projects which include helping organizations like; The Plano Animal Shelter, Hope’s Door, This Side UP Family Center, local nursing homes, local families, and distant families, and many more.  This creates an impressive local and global impact from Girl Scouting.
