Plano East Senior High Baseball Booster Club hosted Cancer Awareness Night at the March 21 Panther Varsity baseball team against Denton Guyer High School. Pink ribbons adorned the rails and players wore pink wristbands in honor of cancer survivors and remembering those who lost their cancer battles. During the game, public address announcer Matt Hamilton asked cancer survivors in attendance to stand. Then he asked those personally touched by cancer to stand. Every single person in the stands rose. Throughout the evening Hamilton read cancer facts between innings.

Plano East Varisty lost their battle with Denton Guyer this game, but players and fans alike walked away with a greater appreciation for those fighting cancer.

Other upcoming special events include East Baseball Alumni Homecoming 7 p.m. Friday, March 31; April 4 Teacher Appreciation Night; April 5 Plano East Panther Pride Open House; April 11 Middle School Night; April 18 Elementary School Night and the April 28 Senior Celebration.
