The Plano City Council in meeting.

The city of Plano is looking for residents to sign up and apply for the Citizens Government Academy. The program is free but is open only to those 18 years old and older. The six-week course will education Plano residents about local government operations and promote understanding of the current pograms and services provided.

As a community outreach program of the city, the Citizens Government Academy will educate residents about the basic roles and functions of municipal government in an interactive environment. The classes will meet every other Thursday beginning March 29 through June 7.

It's a good opportunity for anyone interested in learning about how the inside of a city government works to get first hand experience. To learn more or to apply, visit the Plano City website.
